Capcom ups the ante with its online e-store

Capcom and its e-commerce solutions provider, Digital River, have extended their relationship for another two years.

Under the agreement, Digital River will continue to manage Capcom's online store to support the sale and physical deliver of the publisher's products in North America.

Additionally, Digital River is providing added e-marketing services and optimised e-commerce and distribution capabilities to assist in the sales of Collector's Edition products exclusive to the Capcom online store.

In a release, Digital River's group vice president of games, Jeff Hemenway, said “We are pleased to extend our relationship with Capcom, helping them further capitalise on the growing direct-to-consumer potential in the games market.

“We look forward to providing them even more advanced e-commerce and e-marketing services and creating a new avenue for them to deliver their exclusive line of limited edition products to their loyal customer base.”

Capcom is already using the Digital River Limited Edition e-commerce solution to market its Collector's Edition products. With the solution, the publisher can run a specialty store, fully optimised to promote specific price points, offer extra controls over available inventory and integrate a range of social media marketing tools.
