EA Sports tightens soccer Premier League partnership

EA Sports has become the Official Sports Technology Partner of the English Premier League.

Under the partnership, EA Sports will expand is current relationship with fans of the English Barclays Premier Leaguer with greater authenticity within EA’s FIFA products.

The publisher will also sponsor the Player Performance Index and will explore new ways to create more in depth statistics in future FIFA soccer products.

In a release, EA Sports vice president of soccer, Matt Bilbey, said “partnering with the Premier League further establishes EA Sports and its FIFA Soccer franchise as the ultimate, authentic soccer gaming experience. We look forward to adding further in-game authenticity with the direct access to the Player Performance Index as well as releasing new ways to leverage our technology to enhance the fans enjoyment of Barclays Premier League soccer on and beyond match day each week.”

FIFA Soccer ’11 will be available in stores world-wide this Fall (or Spring for those in the southern hemisphere).
