New match-3 epic throws hat into the ring

Developer and publisher, 10tons, is seeking to capitalise on the popularity of match-3 puzzlers with Heroes of Kalevala.



The iPhone game is similar in concept to titles such as Bejewelled or Puzzle Chronicles, but is inspired by the Finnish national epic Kalevala.

In addition to the core match-3 puzzling, the game will feature an extensive village building meta game, as well as several hero characters to interactive with.

The game is due for release around August 2010, and 10tons has plans to bring it additional platforms, beyond the iPhone.
