Warhammer Online finds new European publisher

EA has assumed the European publishing rights for MMO, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning from the GOA division of France Telecom.

Moving forward, the game will be maintained by BioWare Mythic, the studio the developed the game.

In a release, general manager of BioWare Mythic, Eugene Evans, said "We thank GOA for the termendous job they did launching WAR in Europe and servicing this dynamic community for he past two years.

"We are committed to providing the highest possible level of service and maintaining the glory of epic Realm vs. Realm battles for all European players."

The transition begins immediately, and means that European servers will be suspended for between 48 and 72 hours as new servers are brought online.

As a consolidation, current and former European players will then have 14 days of free gaming, before billing begins anew.

This follows a similar distribution transfer that occured between BioWare Mythic and GOA in Febuary in 2010 involving another MMO, Dark Age of Camelot.
