New cloud-based gaming service, OnLive, has unveiled a pricing model that offers up both rentals and full purchases.
Consumers will be able to access games for three or five days at variable price points, or buy the game outright for permanent access for full retail price.
Borderlands, for instance, can be purchased for $US29.99, rented for five days for $US8.99 or $5.99 for three days.
OnLive subscriptions are initially free, but will cost $US4.95 from the second year. Access to the games from OnLive’s servers and cloud is guaranteed until June 17, 2013.
