Social networking group, Playdom, is quickly setting itself up as a giant in the space, with its ninth acquision in the space of a year.
The group raised $43 million in a first round of funding in November of last year, and recently added an addional $33 million to that.
The newest acquisition is Metaplace, a startup founded by Sony Online veterans Raph Koster and John Donham. Its portfolio includes two popular Facebook games - Island Life and My Vineyard - which have over a million active monthly users between them.
Terms of the acquisition were not released.
