Coconut Dodge joins a host of upcoming PlayStation Mini releases

Coconut Dodge has joined the growing list of Minis available for both the PlayStation 3 and PSP.

Minis are small-sized downloadable games designed to be inexpensive and simple downloads for short bursts of play at a time.

As such, they’re a good complement for the PlayStation Network’s full-featured (and bandwidth-hungry) downloads, and the PSOne classics catalogue.

There are a number of hits in the Mini catalogue already, including Zombies probably stole my Princess, Dracula: Undead Awakening and Stand ‘o Food.

Coconut Dodge is a puzzle game from independent developer and publisher, FuturLab, and sets the player the goal of collecting gems while avoiding falling coconuts.

There are two modes of play - the default mode is for casual players interested in a quick and fun ‘game-on-the-go,’ while the Maze Master mode is a more hardcore offering targeted involving more strategy.

Meanwhile, prolific Indian developer, Gameshastra, has announced an additional three Minis to be released in July and August. Flick Fishing, Crime Spree and Bee Wars will all get releases, broadening the range of games available to PSP and PlayStation 3 owners.
