EB Games and the Game Developers Association of Australia (GDAA) will run simultaneous events in October at the Gold Coast - creating a Mecca of sorts for the local industry for two days.
The combined event, to be held on the October 14 and 15 at the Gold Coast Convention Centre will bring vendor and developer interests together.
The GDAA's event, called Game Connect Asia Pacific, will focus on the changing game development ecosystem and Australia's future role in the global industry - specifically it will be themed 'The Player Experience.'
The event will include tracts on programming, art, design, audio, business development and marketing, across multiple presentation formats, such as panels and round table discussions, lectures and hands-on workshops.
In a release, GDAA CEO, Antony Reed, said “With such an exciting and thought provoking theme as ‘The Player Experience’ at the very heart of what we’re doing this year, we’re gearing up for a community driven GCAP. This year the industry will come together to dissect the global games industry and look at how, with investment from every discipline in the game making process, we come up with amazing new game concepts and gameplay innovations."
